David Meade got his start in the Pinewood Derby as a boy, over 20 years ago, when his family was well known for building unbeatable Pinewood Derby cars. Today, David's own sons carry on the winning tradition and have garnered 13 first-place championships for seven consecutive years.

In addition to his involvement in his sons' Pinewood Derby activities, David runs www.pinederbyinfo.com. Because of his success, David was interviewed by the "Wall Street Journal" and was quoted in "Driving Under the Influencce—of Dad" for the March 4, 2005 issue.

By profession, David is a research scientist, holding a master's degree in statistics, his background in research and experimental design has enabled him to develop a unique and powerful approach to Pinewood Derby racing. He also enjoys model rocketry and astronomy.
