The Little Book of Whittling visits the Big Event
A resident of Smoketown, PA, Chris is a lifelong whittler who loves sharing the secrets of his craft with others. Those who want to learn to whittle can watch Chris’s skilled hands manipulate his inexpensive pocketknife as he thinly slices and pares twigs and branches to create haughty roosters, delicate flowers and trees, and whimsical cane toppers. Chris enjoys talking about one of his inventions – the world’s largest slingshot – that propels unlikely objects (a watermelon) hundreds of yards. He also has the world’s smallest miniature carving that, for most people, requires a magnifying glass to see the detail.
