He operates Paxton's Portraits and Projects, a small business from his home that primarily consists of Christian scrollwork and personal portraits cut in wood. He also sells his scrollwork in two booths at a local Collector's Gallery Craft Mall and, as time permits, works several craft show throughout the year.

This fall I made several of Dr. Paxton's patterns for Christmas gifts and have received more feedback in one month than I received in the last three years. These are patterns that even a beginner can make.
